Barry A. Sheahan

Barry has over 40 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping and income tax preparation. After five years in the financial services industry, he entered the accountancy field in 1977. He received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1982 and became a partner in the firm where he had trained. After moving to the lower mainland, he developed a public accounting and tax practice serving close to three hundred corporate clients and over 1,000 personal tax clients.

After selling his CA practice, Barry served as comptroller to several technology companies, where he was involved on their behalf with government grant and funding programs as well as private and public equity financing. Most recently he served as CFO for the largest Traffic Control Company in the Province of British Columbia. Barry’s duties as CFO included management of the financial affairs of the group of 14 companies, regulatory filings, liaison with financial institutions, auditors, legal advisors and tax and securities authorities.

Barry has taught professional development courses for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of B.C. and has served on the Boards of several not-for-profit organizations as well as Treasurer and then President of a strata council. He and his wife Laura have been foster parents for over 35 years.
